Neil Woodford has said he will share "regular insight into [his] thinking" this year to help investors understand the contrarian positioning in his portfolios.

The Woodford IM manager said it is "more important than ever to focus on the broader issues that drive markets" in the current climate, with markets largely driven by momentum. "Over the coming weeks and months, I aim to share a more detailed and regular insight into my thinking," Woodford said. "It will likely challenge the consensus and some will disagree with me - however, it should give a greater understanding of why my portfolios look as they do."
