Invesco Perpetual has recruited Doug Turnbull, former head of Chinese equities at Neptune Investment Management, to work within its emerging markets team.
Investment Week previously reported Ewan Thompson had been made manager of the £34m Neptune China fund at the end of May, following the departure of Turnbull.
He had spent ten years at Neptune, initially joining as an investment analyst after graduating from the University of Oxford.
Turnbull will join Invesco Perpetual in September as a member of the emerging markets team, the group has confirmed, reporting to head of EM equities Dean Newman.
Newman commented: "I am extremely pleased that Doug is joining our team and look forward to him applying the experience he has gained in Asia to the wider world of emerging markets.
"His arrival reinforces our strategy to further develop our emerging markets franchise to support this growing area of interest for our clients."
