Octopus launches £70m fundraising for Titan VCT

Octopus Investments has today announced the launch of a £70m fundraising for its £309m Titan Venture Capital Trust, the largest VCT in the UK.

This follows a record-breaking  fundraising of £100m earlier this year which saw 67% of the raise coming from new investors as interest in VCTs grows. The firm attributed the growth in investor demand to an increasing number of people looking for complementary options for retirement planning following pension freedoms. In April, the Association of Investment Companies (AIC) announced the VCT sector had raised £457.5m during the 2015/16 tax year, the third-highest year for fundraising on record and the highest since 2006.
