Nikko AM poaches Pictet man for EMEA CEO role

Nikko Asset Management has appointed Pictet Asset Management's head of institutional clients Udo von Werne as chief executive of EMEA.

Von Werne will lead Nikko's strategies for growth in the EMEA region, reporting to president and chief executive Takumi Shibata. He brings 25 years of experience in financial services, joining Nikko from Pictet Asset Management where he was head of institutional clients for continental Europe. He has also previously worked at Zurich Financial Services and UBS. The firm said EMEA is a key strategic region for the business, representing institutional potential of $3.9trn in AUM.
