Aberdeen's Gilbert: HSBC is unlikely to move HQ from London

HSBC is unlikely to move its headquarters from London to Asia as the transfer will be too complicated, according to Martin Gilbert, chief executive of Aberdeen Asset Management and one of the UK bank's largest shareholders.

HSBC, Europe's biggest bank by assets, first launched a review of its domicile in April, with the view to potentially move its headquarters back to Hong Kong, on the grounds the regulatory climate in the UK was becoming increasingly difficult to navigate. However, Gilbert told Bloomberg: "The logistics of moving their headquarters are so vast.
