Shaughnessy made global head of Zurich's life division

The chief executive of Zurich's life division in the UK, Gary Shaughnessy, has been promoted to head the division globally.

Shaughnessy (pictured) will succeed current global life chief Kristof Terryn, who will move to head the general insurance business, in January. Zurich said it will announce a successor for Shaughnessy in the UK "in due course". Shaughnessy became UK life chief executive in June 2012. He held the additional role of UK country head from 2014 and is also the interim chief executive of the global life business in the EMEA region.
