Odey shorts Aberdeen on fears of further outflows

Crispin Odey is among hedge fund managers shorting Aberdeen Asset Management's stock on fears the latest £9.9bn outflows reported by the company spell further trouble ahead.

Short interest in the asset management firm has jumped from 4.2% in January to the current level of 7.4% of shares outstanding, according to data from Markit. Odey Asset Management, run by Crispin Odey (pictured) and Canadian venture capital firm Discovery Capital Management, is among the companies betting on Aberdeen's further downturn, Bloomberg reports. Other short sellers include Rob Citrone's Discovery Capital Management, which also holds a short position in the stock.
