Baillie Gifford has made the manager of the Edinburgh Worldwide investment trust, Douglas Brodie, a partner in the business.
Brodie, who is also head of global discovery at the firm, will begin his new role in May after the retirement of head of trading Robert Blaikie. Baillie Gifford is wholly owned by its 40 partners, all of whom work full time within the business. Brodie has managed the £250m Edinburgh Worldwide trust for a year, alongside John MacDougall. The trust aims for capital growth by largely investing in "immature" companies with a sub-£3bn market cap.
