Somerset Capital to unveil India fund for new recruit

Emerging markets specialist Somerset Capital is to add an India fund to its suite of products in 2015, to be run by its newest hire.

The fund will be the first single country emerging market portfolio for the group, which also has global emerging markets and frontier markets funds. Somerset said the fund is likely to launch in Q2 2015. It will be managed by Dhawal Mehta, who joined Somerset in September from Reliance Asset Management, where he was head of Indian equities. Chief executive Dominic Johnson (pictured) said: “The direction of travel in India is very attractive, we like the liquidity in the market, and it has lots of depth.
