The Skandia name is to disappear as the group rebrands as Old Mutual Wealth across all UK operations.

Old Mutual Wealth includes the adviser platform, financial advice offered via the Intrinsic network and independent financial advisers, and asset management products offered in tandem with Old Mutual Global Investors.

Offshore investment business Skandia International will rebrand as Old Mutual International early next year.

Old Mutual acquired Skandia in 2006 and the launch of Old Mutual Wealth completes its integration into the FTSE 100 group.

The rebrand will be accompanied by a major advertising campaign across the media, taxis, billboards and transport hubs.

Old Mutual Wealth chief executive Paul Feeney (pictured) said: "We are incredibly proud of our Skandia heritage and in fact we want to reignite the Skandia passion for innovation and high quality support for advisers and customers within Old Mutual Wealth.

"So, we say goodbye to Skandia with pride and look forward to building a new breed of investment business as Old Mutual Wealth."
