First State Stewart poaches EM specialist from Fidelity

First State has expanded the First State Stewart team with the hire of Ashish Swarup.

Swarup joins First State Stewart as a portfolio manager on the emerging markets and worldwide equity team. He joins from Fidelity Investments where he worked as a portfolio manager and analyst on emerging market equities for the last ten years. The First State Stewart team, led by Angus Tulloch, is well-regarded as emerging market specialists and run various global emerging markets and Asia-Pacific funds.  Several of these funds have been soft-closed after seeing strong inflows including the £3.3bn Global Emerging Markets Leaders fund, managed by Jonathan Asante.
