Barings appoints EM specialist as head of equities

Barings has appointed emerging markets specialist Jean-Louis Scandella as head of equities.

Scandella joins from French equity boutique Comgest which offers a suite of emerging and developed equity products similar to Barings. At Comgest he worked as a emerging market portfolio manager and sat on the leadership team. He will join the group on 2 June, reporting to chief investment officer Marino Valensise (pictured). He will also be a member of the Barings' investment commitee and chair of the global sector team. Valensise said: "We are pleased to welcome Jean-Louis to Barings.
