Threadneedle's Brazier: Talk of stockpickers' market is ‘rubbish'

Suggestions 2013-2014 has seen the return of a stockpickers' equity market are "rubbish", according to Threadneedle head of UK equities Simon Brazier.

Speaking to Investment Week, Brazier, manager of the £1.8bn Threadneedle UK fund, suggested investors who see lower correlations as good news for active managers have already missed the major opportunity of a generation. “To say it is a stockpickers’ market now is rubbish. People said in 2009-2011 it was not a stockpickers’ market, but that was farcical, because that was the best opportunity to buy companies on incredible valuations,” he said.
