Rathbones CEO Pomfret to retire after decade at helm

Rathbone Brothers chief executive Andy Pomfret is to retire on 28 February 2014 after almost a decade in charge of the wealth manager.

Pomfret, who became chief executive in 2004, will be succeeded by deputy CEO Philip Howell on 1 March 2014. Howell joined Rathbones in March 2013, having previously been CEO of Williams de Broe. Pomfret, meanwhile, joined Rathbones in 1999 as finance director. "I have had a fascinating 14 years at Rathbones, initially as finance director and [then] as CEO, during which funds under management rose from £7.7bn at 31 December 2004 to £20.8bn at 30 September 2013," Pomfret said.
