Jupiter has promoted Dan Carter to run its $148m Jupiter Japan Select SICAV, with Simon Somerville stepping back to become deputy manager.
Carter (pictured), who also manages the Japanese portion of the Jupiter Global Managed fund, has been deputy manager on SICAV since November 2011. He will remain as deputy manager on Somerville's £612m Jupiter Japan Income trust. The manager joined Jupiter from Odey Assey Management in 2008 as an analyst on its Far Eastern equities team. Jupiter Japan Select has returned 20% over the three years to 11 October, according to Morningstar, compared with an IMA Japan sector average return of 29.7%.
