Walker steps down from Martin Currie North American fund

Tom Walker has handed over management of the Martin Currie North American fund to his co-manager Penny Kyle.

The group hired Kyle from the Kuwait Investment Office last September to help turn around the performance of the flagging fund, after it dropped to the bottom quartile of the IMA North America sector. From now on, Walker (pictured) will concentrate fully on the £169m Martin Currie Global Portfolio trust, which he has managed for over a decade. The group said the move will help it respond to increased demand from investors for investment trusts post-RDR.
