US asset recovery specialist launches into UK market

One of the largest companies in the US specialising in reuniting investors with their lost investments has launched in the UK, revealing there is an estimated £70bn of unclaimed financial assets owed to investors.

The vast majority of unclaimed assets for UK investors currently sit within life and pension policies, although a growing number are in the funds industry. Boston-based Unclaimed Property Recovery & Reporting (UPRR) has established a separate company in London called Rightful Owners which offers investors a free service to trace lost assets. Once they have been found, investors can choose to deal directly with the product provider or use Rightful Owners to reclaim the asset for a fee of between 10%-20% of the current value.
