Nabeel Mughal and Peter Kaye (pictured), co-managers of the £98m Melchior North American Opportunities fund, name their five most lucrative investments over the past five years.

Mughal's fund has returned 58.1% over three years, against an average of 50.6% for the IMA North America sector, and lost 3.6% over one year, against a 3.3% average return, according to Morningstar data to 27 July. 1. Netflix The leader in DVD rental came to our attention in late 2007 through a positive inflection in earnings revisions. Sentiment towards the company had been poor with a high level of short interest.
