Martin Currie is merging Tom Walker's £28m North American Alpha fund and James Fairweather's £44m Martin Currie Global fund into existing funds to streamline its range.
The North American Alpha fund has now been merged into £418m Martin Currie North American fund, both run by Walker, and the Martin Currie Global fund has been merged into Alan Porter's £18m Global Equity Income fund, as of 24 February. The group said lower risk appetite among investors has made the lower risk profile of the North American offering more appealing than the high conviction approach of the Alpha offering.
