Cazenove's Marriage: Five small caps to back for 2012

Paul Marriage, manager of Cazenove's £91m UK Smaller Companies fund, names five smaller companies set to outperform in 2012.

The Smaller Companies sector has taken a battering in the latter part of this year, losing 14.62% on average since August, according to Morningstar. However, small-cap fund managers say investors should not lose sight of the fact the sector should be seen as a long term investment. Marriage has protected against the downside by increasing positions in his high conviction names.
