Threadneedle chairman Davies steps down

Threadneedle's executive chairman Simon Davies is set to retire from the group in June 2012.

Crispin Henderson will continue to lead the firm as CEO, reporting to Jim Cracchiolo, CEO and chairman of Ameriprise Financial, Threadneedle’s parent company. Davies led Threadneedle’s transformation from a small UK manager of in-house insurance assets to an international asset management business. He joined as CIO in 1995, building the investment team and developing the group’s investment philosophy, and became CEO in 1999, taking on the role of chairman in 2007.
