Jupiter CIO John Chatfeild-Roberts has urged investors to remain calm in the face of global market turmoil, adding he sees it as a buying opportunity, particularly for S&P 500 names.
Chatfeild-Roberts said despite the widespread sell-off in global markets, companies remain robust, with the majority of companies in the S&P 500 posting strong earnings growth in Q2. "It is at difficult times like these we have to remind ourselves companies are generally in excellent health," he said. "By way of example, two-thirds of the US companies in the S&P 500 index have now reported Q2 earnings and 73% of those have exceeded analyst expectations."
