Schroders has hired GLG's Core Plus Sterling Bond fund manager Gareth Isaac.
Isaac, one of the top performing bond fund managers, has joined as a senior portfolio manager within the London-based fixed income multi-sector team. He will work across Schroders' high conviction mandates when he joins the group in October. Previously Isaac headed up a number of portfolios at GLG including the Core Plus fund and the group's Total Return Bond and Gilt funds. Under his stewardship the funds excelled, with the £48m Core Plus fund returning 34% over three years compared to the 21.5% sector average return from the IMA Corporate Bond sector.
