US markets got off to a mixed start Monday as European nations continued to debate the future of Greece.
The S&P 500 fell marginally, shedding one point to trade at 1,267.53, while the Dow Jones made minor gains, climbing 55.89 points to 11,990.47. The muted opening followed the pattern set by Europe as nervous traders eyed the ongoing Greek debt situation. Despite a move by France's premier Nicolas Sarkozy to confirm the country would back plans to rollover Greek debt, investors remained concerned, with European shares continuing to trade lower.
