Mirae's Sit returns to Barings for CIO role

Barings has recruited Wilfred Sit to fill the newly-created role of chief investment officer for the Asian business, four years after he left the group.

Sit headed up Barings' Asian equities team from 2004 to 2007 before leaving for Mirae Asset Global Investments. There he led the firm's Asia Pacific strategy and also served as regional chief investment officer, before being promoted to head of emerging markets. In the new role at Barings he will work alongside Colin Ng, head of Asian equities, and Agnes Deng, head of Hong Kong China equities. Sit will report to Tim Scholefield, the head of equities.
