LGIM considers expansion into multi-asset space

Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) is mulling the launch of a balanced managed fund later this year to fill a gap in its product range.

Simon Ellis, managing director of the group’s unit trust business, says in a post-RDR climate multi-asset will become a greater focus for investors. Ellis says: “In each area of the business we are looking for gaps in our existing product ranges and we are looking to add to our multi-asset offering as we believe the area will expand extensively in the lead up to RDR. “We are looking to introduce a balanced managed fund later this year as clearly we are not in an important part of the market place which is growing all the time.” Ellis says he is looking at each asset class and ass...
