Stick's top five stocks for income

Carl Stick, manager of the £486m Rathbone Income fund, reveals his top five stock picks for income seekers.

Top of the list is GlaxoSmithKline with a 5.75% weighting in Stick's Income portfolio, and priced at 1,201p on the FTSE 100 on Friday's close, its shares have climbed from 1,109p a year ago. "The company is incorrectly priced, with a good level of cashflow and a fantastic level of dividends. It is a nice defensive place to be," says Stick. Stick's second choice is a "good place to be in the current economic environment", he says. Stick holds 5.38% of his portfolio in the cigarette manufacturer British American Tobacco.
