Edwards refused to re-join MAM board

MAM Funds' Simon Edwards has revealed he refused an offer to re-join the company's board, preferring to concentrate on running funds.

Edwards was previously chief executive of the Liverpool-based firm and was made the offer as part of the MBO which saw £20m of capital raised following the issue of new shares, as well as former Gartmore manager Gervais Williams joining the firm. Despite being the founder of the firm in 2002, Edwards will continue in his role running the funds rather than resume boardroom duties. He says: "I'm staying on as a fund manager.
