Informed Choice has slammed groups including Invesco Perpetual, M&G and SWIP for their poorly performing UK equity income offerings.
Martin Bamford, the managing director, looked at the performance of every fund in the IMA UK Equity Income sector over one, three, and five years and picked out the ‘lemons' after scrutinising risk adjusted returns, consistency and cost. Bamford only assessed funds with at least a five-year track record. After establishing the poorest performing funds, Informed Choice awarded either a three, two or one lemon rating, with three being given to the very worst performers.
