FTSE pushes back above 6000 mark

London's leading share index has opened up 0.64% at 6023.84, recovering from a sluggish end yesterday, buoyed by a strong performance from banks in Asia.

This morning's winners include Burberry Group, climbing 3.87%, SABMiller, up 2.81% and Xstrata climbing 2.34%.   Miners were back in favour, with Kazakhmys rising 2.60% and Rio Tinto up 2.34%,. Yesterday saw miners close down amid lower metals prices following China's move to increase banks' reserve requirements.   Conversely, Essar Energy took a hit, down 3.86%, Prudential fell 1.23%, GlaxoSmithKline was down 0.79%, Experian dropped 0.64% while Capital Shopping Centres Group was down 0.38%.   In Europe, the Cac 40 was up 0.71% at 4003.45, while Germany's Dax opened up 0.6...
