Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (Swip) has appointed Peter Cockburn, its acting head of UK equities, as permanent leader of the unit.
Cockburn took on the interim leadership role after Swip's previous head of UK equities Robert Waugh left in September. Cockburn has worked for Swip's 13-member UK equities team for six years. He joined the firm in 2003, having worked for five years at Edinburgh Fund Managers. Cockburn runs a number of retail portfolios at Swip including UK Opportunities, UK Advantage and UK Select Growth.
