Guy de Blonay will take up his position as co-manager of the £1.2bn Jupiter Financial Opportunities fund alongside Philip Gibbs on 1 June.
De Blonay has been working for the group in an advisory capacity since returning to Jupiter in January after nine years at New Star, and has also been involved with running an internal pension fund. As well as his role as co-manager, de Blonay will also be lead manager on the Hyde Park hedge fund. "Philip Gibbs has developed unprecedented skill in picking the right macro within the cycle.
