Peter Hargreaves, the chief executive and co-founder of Hargreaves Lansdown, is to step down in the autumn.
Chief operating officer Ian Gorham has been appointed deputy CEO and will, subject to FSA approval, become chief executive after Hargreaves' exit. Peter Hargreaves, who co-founded the business with Stephen Lansdown in 1981 and who was yesterday named the 111th richest person in Britain and Ireland by The Sunday Times, will remain an executive director.
