Liontrust names new chairman

Adrian Collins is the new non-executive chairman Liontrust Asset Management, according to an announcement the group made this morning.

Collins' appointment at the London-based firm, announced via a stock exchange filing, took effect on Friday. He replaces Bernard Asher, who relinquishes the role but remains a non-executive director at the group. Collins is also chairman of Corvus Capital and a consultant to Strand Partners, and founder of Trustnet, according to Bloomberg. Until mid-2007 he was chairman of Raven Russia and, for two years to 2001, chief executive of I E Group. He has also worked as managing director at Gartmore, Bloomberg said.
