Hexam Capital has just celebrated the three year anniversary of its Global Emerging Markets and Emerging Europe funds, with both strategies considerably outperforming their respective peer groups over the period.
Led by managing partner Bryan Collings, the Ignis joint-venture boutique was established by a number of former Barings managers in July 2006, with the funds launched four months later. Collings' Global Emerging Markets vehicle returned 53.78% over the three years to 6 November, well above the Lipper Equity Emerging Markets Global sector's average rise of 31.63%, in sterling terms. Hexam's Emerging Europe fund, led by Stuart Richards, climbed 8.96% over the same period, against an average 2.71% fall for the Lipper Equity Emerging Markets Europe classification.
