Santander Asset Management is launching three bond funds to use as underlying investment vehicles across its multi-manager range. The range, called Portfolio Investments, currently invests in external bespoke mandates - SMM Multi-manager Fixed Interest Monthly Income, SMM Bond Bi-Monthly Distributor and SMM Fixed Interest Quarterly Income, but these are being dropped in favour of a more fettered strategy. "Using external mandates can be cumbersome from an operational point of view, so we are moving the money from the bond funds we currently use into the new funds," says CIO John Bearman. ...
