Standard Life's with-profits funds have recovered some of their value following a major downgrade in October 2008. In its latest review of bonuses, announced last week, most plans will have increased in value, but will still remain considerably lower than a year ago due to extreme market conditions. Despite increases in bonuses, some plans are nursing significant losses over the past 12 months, with some with-profits bonds making a loss of almost 14% since January 2008.
