The FSA has set up a department to help develop a more principles-based approach to meeting its statutory objectives. The Retail Savings Regulatory Strategy Group, which includes Standard Life's Trevor Matthews and Richard Wastcoat of Fidelity, will deal with several initiatives, including the regulation of retail savings. The newly-formed group will also assist with consumer protection by engaging with stakeholders.
