GLobal financials and financial leaders funds are to merge before the end of the year

New Star is to merge its £41m Global Financials and £35m Financial Leaders funds by the end of the year, subject to unit holder approval. The latter was inherited when New Star acquired Edinburgh Fund Managers' retail fund range via Aberdeen several years ago. Both are managed by Guy de Blonay and have similar portfolios. Rob Page, international marketing director at New Star said it had not been a priority to merge the two portfolios before now.
