This year should see new investment opportunities in the corporate bonds arena, says Mark Sanders, fixed interest fund manager at Aberdeen Asset Management. Recent fiscal stimulus has increased optimism regarding global growth in the latter half of 2002, he says, which, together with a low inflationary environment, should ensure a supportive atmosphere for corporate bonds. The gilt market looks overbought, however, and Sanders does not believe it will perform as strongly in 2002.
