German-based independent financial adviser AWD has bought Chase de Vere from Bank of Ireland in a £20m deal. AWD, which bought another IFA firm Thomson in November 2001, is expected to take control of the group this month, subject to FSA approval. The combined business will be headed up by AWD UK CEO Douglas Gardner. He said: "This acquisition greatly strengthens our core proposition of providing market leading independent financial advice."
