Shadow paymaster general, Stephen O'Brien MP, is tabling an amendment to the 2003 Finance Bill this week that, if passed, would maintain the 10% tax credit on dividends for Isa investors. O'Brien and shadow chief secretary to the Treasury, Howard Flight MP, have been working closely with trade bodies, including the IMA and Pima, to find ways of reversing the Government's proposal to end the tax credit next April.
