Geike-cobb to manage fund which will be similar in approach to baring global bond portfolio
launch a global bond fund to be managed by Peter Geike-Cobb after he joins the group in October. The fund will be similar in approach to the Baring Global Bond portfolio, now run by Paul Thursby, that Geike-Cobb managed before leaving the group to join Mercury Asset Management (now Merrills) in 1992. Baring Global Bond looks to achieve income and long-term capital growth by investing in securities bearing a fixed or variable rate of income and, where appropriate, securities with equity participation.
