Jon Hodesdon, former managing director of adviser sales at Edinburgh Fund Managers (EFM), joined New Star Asset Management as director of the fund of funds (Fof) business it acquired from the Scottish group. Hodesdon would work with Mark Harris, head of investment management at the newly branded New Star Portfolio, and his role was to establish the group as a market leader in the multi-manager field. During his tenure at EFM, Hodesdon grew the Fof business from £20m in assets under management to about £400m, making it the third biggest retail Fof provider in the UK.
