Research from F&C's multi-manager team reveals only a handful of funds have beaten their sector average in each of the past five years

Only a handful of funds have delivered median or better returns in each of the past five calendar years, research from F&C's multi-manager team has revealed. Just 12 of the 245 vehicles in the UK All Companies sector have beaten the average in each of the past five years, for example. Among other sectors, Japan and Global Bond are the only ones where none of the funds have achieved the consistency, with UK Smaller Companies, Asia Pacific ex Japan and Cautious Managed delivering two each.
