Winners in 11 categories were announced at Investment Week's Investment Trust of the Year Awards in November. The judging process for these accolades went back several months prior to this, using a mixture of quants screens and the qualitative input of the judging panel. Performance was judged on an NAV basis using data up to 31 August 2003, with all trusts of less than £20m in assets and with less than a three-year track record stripped out.
