Scottish Widows has increased regular and final bonus rates on many with-profits policies and cut market value reductions, after the fund produced its best return since 1997 last year. Looking at regular bonuses on conventional with-profits policies, rates have increased on the sum assured plus an attaching bonus up from 0.5% to 2%. On unitised policies, most annual payments have been maintained, with pension fund schemes seeing one of the few increases to 1.75%. As for final bonuses, on unitised pension policies, rates have increased from 4% to 9% for schemes started in 1990 for example...
