The past tax year saw Isa sales drop by some 50% over the 2004/2005 period, although this was primarily due to a slow start to the season, as sales in March were just 10% down on the previous year. According to the IMA's monthly statistics, sales in March saw a fivefold increase over February's figures with net Isa sales hitting £445m. Once the first five days of April are included, the number moves up to £772m net, as sales in the last week of the season well outstripped that of the previous year, pulling in £327m compared to £247m in April 2004.
