UK stock market will continue to rally says Mike Lenhoff, chief global strategist at Gerrard

The UK stock market will continue to rally ahead of an anticipated US recovery next year, according to Mike Lenhoff, chief global strategist at Gerrard. Lenhoff said 60% of the FTSE 100 is now outperforming, compared with 80% of the FTSE 250. The proportionally greater number of cyclicals and domestic-facing companies in the FTSE 250 has led to it outperforming the FTSE 100. The heavier gearing into the business cycle also enabled the FTSE 250 to push through the 6,000 barrier, which has been a critical resistance level for the mid-cap index, Lenhoff said.
