Active UK equity managers underperform while emerging markets provide the best market returns
Active UK equity pension managers underperformed the FTSE All-Share in April, albeit by a small margin after fees. According to Russell Mellon (Caps) statistics for balanced pooled pension funds, active managers in UK equities returned 1% in April, net of fees, underperforming the main index by 0.1%. The best-performing balanced pension fund over the month was New Star's Managed Portfolio, which made gains of 1.7%, based on offer to offer pricing with income reinvested at offer.
